PBIS

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive approach to promoting positive behavior and creating a supportive school environment. By focusing on prevention and teaching appropriate behaviors, PBIS helps reduce disciplinary issues, improve student engagement, and enhance overall school climate. In Shasta County, the Office of Education offers comprehensive training for all three tiers of PBIS, ensuring that schools can effectively implement this framework to meet the diverse needs of their students. Currently, over 20 schools in the county are participating in these training sessions, equipping educators with the tools to foster positive behaviors and support student success.

The impact of PBIS in Shasta County has been significant, with several schools being recognized as showcase PBIS schools due to their exemplary implementation of the program. These schools serve as models for best practices in behavior support and have demonstrated improved student outcomes, such as increased academic performance and decreased behavioral incidents. By investing in PBIS training and support, Shasta County is not only enhancing the educational experience for its students but also creating a more inclusive and effective learning environment for all.
