Title VI Coordinator Meetings

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has had a significant impact on education for Native American students by addressing the historical and systemic discrimination they face in educational settings. This legislation not only prohibits discrimination based on race and national origin but also recognizes the unique cultural and linguistic needs of Native American communities. As a result, schools receiving federal funds are required to implement programs and practices that support the academic success of Native American students, promoting culturally relevant curricula and providing language assistance where necessary. Title VI has empowered Native American families to advocate for their children's rights, leading to improved educational resources and opportunities that honor their heritage, ultimately fostering a more equitable educational landscape.

Title VI Coordinator meetings are held virtually.  Please email Cindy Hogue for link information.
