New Counselor/Intern Mentorship

Tara Schwerdt, a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in school counseling, leads the mentor support and professional development initiatives for counselors serving K-12 grades at the Shasta County Office of Education. Her comprehensive approach recognizes the crucial role counselors play in addressing the social and emotional needs of students. By offering targeted training and resources, Tara equips counselors with the skills necessary to foster resilience and well-being among students, ensuring they are prepared to navigate the complexities of their academic and personal lives.
 
In addition to social and emotional support, Tara emphasizes the importance of life skills coaching and college and career preparation.
